Miasma [1] is a deadly gas filled with spores from the Sea of Corruption that chokes human and animal life to death. Insects like the Ohmu are unaffected by the miasma but can spread the spores from the Sea of Corruption to clean lands.
Miasma can be successfully blocked by using a Shohki Mask filled with the ashes from the Toritsuma herb to filter the deadly gas.
